Creation of the purchase order allows the entering of items and quoted prices with deliver date and locations
Purchase orders can be received into location inventory
directly into Purchase Orders or through Accounts Payable invoice entry so invoiced prices can be compared to quoted prices
So adjustments can be made as needed.
A number of related purchase order and purchase order history reports are available too.
The tracking of purchase orders creates another level of control in your business. Appropriate controls are in place to make sure the right person is ordering materials. Knowing how many of each item is on order helps you know what is coming in so overordering can be reduced. With the integration into AP receipts you will be in control of the actual prices charged. Shipping costs can be spread over the purchase order receipts, too.
