Microsoft and its manufacturing partners have released a new form of the PC, the Tablet PC:

This is a Tablet PC. It is a cross between the function available in a Laptop and the small size of a Pocket PC. This device provides all of the function of a laptop computer but reduces the size and weight to almost that of the Pocket PC.
